Analysis of Pressure Transient Data via Wavelet Transformation
In the process of well testing, wavelet transform was introduced to accomplish the time-frequency analysis of long term pressure transient data. In the procedure of denoising via wavelet transformation, the wavelet types, threshold function and wavelet decomposition levels have been analyzed to study their effects on the signal to noise ratio (SNR) of the denoised data. The results showed that Daubechies of order 5 (Db5) wavelet is suitable for pressure data processing. The efficiency of the proposed filtering technique was demonstrated via the synthetic and field data pressure tests.
