Abstract

In animal and human nutrition, the gastrointestinal tract is responsible for the first physiological step of bringing nutrients to the body‟s cells and plays a crucial role in the regulation of the development of young mammals. Within this step the diet is digested and absorbed, and the intestinal mucosa is responsible for protection from injuries derived from microbiota or undesirable substances.
